Take a look at the photo above. It is a cocoa plantation in Ghana. It may also be a highly prized gold mining site. The way the locals determine the difference is they hand dig holes in the ground, pull out some soil and then run it through a sluice. If they find any gold they bring in the excavators and strip the whole area. They then process all of the soil down to the bedrock to see what is there. If that sounds rather destructive and not very efficient then you have an idea what has been going on for hundreds of years.
Contrast that now with modern methods. Sometimes x-ray aerial photography reveals pathfinder elements, those that accompany gold deposits. They then bring in machinery dig a bunch of holes, pull out core samples, test them and if there is sufficient gold there they strip the whole area, process all the soil down to the bedrock to see what is there. If that does not sound very efficient and a lot like the primitive method above you are getting a better picture of what normally goes on in the exploration market.
Now, let’s take a look at Geo Electrical Imaging. For some reason you believe an area may be rich in gold deposits. So you bring in a small team of exploration people. They push some metal stakes in the ground at precisely measured intervals, hook them up to a machine that sends out an electrical signal and records data to be analyzed later on. You then pull up the stakes and leave with your data. We then have our expert geophysicist analyze the data and give us exactly, using GPS coordinates, where the richest concentrations of gold are. We have yet to purchase the land destroy the environment or even disturb the farming that is going on there until we are sure of what is underground.
The whole process took a day or two of in-the-field work and we now know what is there. Compare that with hundreds of thousands of dollars of drill rig equipment and months of hit-or-miss drilling and expensive chemical analysis to provide an extrapolation of what is underground and you have an idea of which way your should be going when making decisions that are environmentally responsible and economically sound.
Call us if you want to make a non-traditional and much wiser decision. We have the foremost geophysicist in the USA to analyze the data and give you a sound idea of what is underground.
